Yet, our planet's most valuable resource is facing unprecedented threats from climate change, overfishing, pollution & more. We ALL have a responsibility to protect our oceans & and ensure their sustainability for future generations 🌎💙
The theme of this STEM event is "Oceanic Sustainability: Protecting Our Planet's Lifeblood." Our oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, covering over 70% of the Earth's surface and providing a home for millions of species. However, our oceans are facing unprecedented hreats from climate change, overfishing, pollution, and more. As a collective, we have a responsibility to take action to protect our oceans and ensure their sustainability for future generations.
Through this event, we will hear from STEM professionals and GirlUp Members, and explore the science and technology behind oceanic sustainability--including innovative solutions and policies that can help address the challenges facing our oceans. We will learn about cutting-edge research in areas such as marine biology, oceanography, and environmental science, and discuss how we can apply this knowledge to promote sustainable practices and protect our planet's most valuable resource.
